There is this really brilliant thing we have down here in the South that we like to call "Central AC". Works wonders. :|
People in the north also have this device known as "Central AC". Besides, it's way easier to warm yourself than it is to razzle dazzle yourself. All you need is to throw a blanket on you or something like that to warm up, but to razzle dazzle down you have to get out of the sun, into a shaded area with wind, and you have to strip, which is highly immodest. Tsk tsk, FranciscanHeart.

If this winter turns out like last years winter we won't have hardly any snow. Well, by our standards.
Two or three years ago, we experienced the largest snow storm in twenty years. We had a whopping four inches of snow. It took a full twenty four hours for it to melt.
What were you saying about hardly any snow?

*Edit: if anyone asks, I am not an English Major

You've obviously never been to Minnesota before. We operate just fine under several feet of snow. The state doesn't shut down unless people literally cannot dig or plow themselves out.

If you can throw a blanket on the road to melt the ice, or on the sky to get rid of the storm clouds, then you will have a valid argument.
Until then, hot weather is way better to travel in than cold.
Northern cold doesn't bother me. It feels much colder in the south in the winter, than in the north, because northern cold is dry and southern cold is wet. It is the driving/flying conditions that are worrisome.

And, I really don't want to see anyone "razzle dazzle down". It sounds like dirty dancing to me. :P

If people from my state decided to drive en masse in MN, the state most certainly would shut down. :hehe2:
I can't afford to go all the way up there, anyway. But you wouldn't want me there. I would probably kill someone.
I lived in Maryland for a while. I know what it can be like.

Heat blows out your tires on the highway, causing you to skid and run into other vehicles which also happen to be going at seventy miles an hour. However, on ice, generally everyone is going slow, so if you do slide, it won't be as big an impact.

Icy roads are way more dangerous than the potential for a blow-out from the heat. Driving across the northern states in winter is much more dangerous than driving across the south in the summer. Sorry. You're wrong.

Do you drive?

Oh wait I forgot you're only 13...

On ice generally everyone SHOULD BE going slow. In actuality many drive just like it is summer... :|

You mean a pavement blowup? That's pretty rare.
So are tire blowouts. I've driven on asphalt hot enough to melt your tennis shoes, and never had a blowout.

I'm actually almost sixteen, and yes I do drive.

I said everyone should be going slow. But according to Arfink ice on the highways is not much of a problem since they usually put tons of salt on the highways.

Have you ever driven in the south in the summer?
And salt on the road won't work once the temperature is under 17 degress, nor does it increase visibility, and most people going up there would be on the interstate, not a highway. And it certainly doesn't help airplanes.

....I am just having fun with you, you know.

I'm not going anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon line in December. :|

Just kidding.... we'll probably retire up north knowing my husband.

Still, I kind of think December is a bad idea to plan trips like that. Holiday season and all. Lots of people have tighter budgets at that time of year.

Well, maybe December is an officially bad idea. When else would work for people? I'd considered doing something in the fall here, but people are always busy because of school starting up and also it's kinda short notice. Would anybody be willing/able to do October?

Or should I be looking at the spring? And competing with Pitt. Lol.
