So, Yesterday I was at a restaurant and the waitress came up to seat me. She the proceeded to ask me if I wanted a children menu! Seriously! ..........SERIOUSLY!

I thought to myself "do I really look like I am 12!?!?" I am going to be 20 in a month! This it too weird. The waitress said she "couldn't tell" if I was kids menu age. very odd.... I was weird-ed out so much by this! I know she didn't mean anything by it and I know she was just asking but DID I REALLY LOOK 12? Now I am worried that I look too young! If I look 12 then that's not okay...

Well, my rant is over now...

So whats the deal you get a buy on food, something you will appreciate when you grow up and have to pay for the food out of the money YOU earn instead of draining your poor parents dry. Besides in 8 years when you are really 20 you probably would be thrilled if somebody thought you were younger.

When I was 17, I looked like I was 12, and when I was at undergrad, I still looked fairly young, and often people didn't realize I was old enough to drink. Since I had my reversion I've been actually trying to act my age (aka like a man that is old enough to raise a family or to die for his country) and while I was still 22, someone confused me for a professor (which you can't get until after 5-7 years working on a PhD and 2-4 years of post-doctoral studies). Be grateful for it, it'll catch up to you before you know it.

I'm weird like this so I need to ask this question... You know I'm serious when I say I'm gonna be 20... right? ( I should have put this thread in open mic.) 'Cause I am COMPLETELY serious! ... :think2: whatever...if you want to believe that I am younger... go right ahead..... :paperbag:

I can't wait to say goodbye to 19... I can't wait to say hello to 20! :hehe2:

Vincent Vega

When I was 12, I looked 20.
When I was 20, I looked 12.
When I was 200, I looked 120.

Now I don't look like anything, because I am dead.

Not The Philosopher

When I was younger I had long, unruly hair and a scruffly beard. I remember people asking me if I would buy beer for them. Now that I have repented of my bad grooming habits, I've been mistaken for a highschooler on multiple occasions.

I am 22 and I went to this retreat last fall and I was a chaperone, but everyone thought one of the high schoolers. In fact one guy asked me right out of the blue if I was a sophmore in high school. I think it's the lack of any real facial hair and my braces, but think about it when you near 40 everyone will be like, "are you gonna hit 30 soon?" And you'll think that's razzle dazzle then trust me.

HopefulBride

When I was your age (well actually older) I got in trouble at my brother's HS for skipping (this is when I was picking him up for a Dr's appointment) people kept telling me that I would appreciate it when I get older. I'm now past 30 and people still mistake me for a teenager, I don't like at all but I do smile and think to when I'll be 45 and looking 20 something.

Don't worry about it, you'll get it a lot over the years (sorry to be the bearer of bad news) but the more you embrace it the more you realize it's a awe.some thing. That and you'll save yourself some early wrinkles from worrying about whether or not you look your age.

little random note: I still get carded while my friend's 19-year old son doesn't. I smile when that happens :)
