joemal1117
*hijack* Does anybody here remember Stryper?

Styper rules!!!! I saw them in '84 after I tossed out my Led Zep and VH. I caught a New Testament and also Robert Sweet's drum stick. Had it for years... Nothin' like a little Yellow and Black attack to get one to play some serious Christian Air Guitar and Drums :bee:
ransom
Ransom, you're playing with Blindside?! That's so cool! I love them; they're pro-lifers!!
Yeah, they are the real deal. They stopped their show here in Tulsa to talk about respecting life and the aids crisis in Africa. We're pretty psyched about getting the opening slot for that show. I hear they're really down to earth and not about the whole rock star thing despite their success. pax Christi, ransom p.s. If you're near the Dallas area we will be at The Asylum this Friday, May 21st. We're called Recycled Souls. I don't have any other info other than that though. I just ride in the back of the van and get out and play when they tell me to. ransom
Kalel from Pillar is a Catholic? I thought they were all protestants.
Kalel isn't Catholic (yet), but his wife is and their new baby was baptised at St. Ben's recently. I think he was brought up in the Luthern church. I pray that he will soon start RCIA, he's shown an interest in it. It would be cool not to be, or at least feel like, the only Catholic on the Christian hardcore scene. pax Christi, ransom

Birgitta Noel
Hmmm, I have lots of favs., but my hubby and I totally agree that if we were trapped on a desert island and could only take a handful of cds that Steven Curtis Chapman's Speechless would be one of them! That said, do these two songs remind anyone else of Eucharistic Adoration/Mass? I totally want to write SCC and say, "Hey, you are soooooo Catholic and don't even realize it! Come HOME!!!!" Ok, here's the lyrics.... Great Expectations by S.C. Chapman from Speechless The morning finds me here at heaven's door A place I've been so many times before Familiar thoughts and phrases start to flow And carry me to places that I know so well But dare I go where I don't understand And do I dare remember where I am I stand before the great eternal throne The one that God Himself is seated on And I, I've been invited as a son Oh I, I've been invited to come and... Believe the unbelievable Receive the inconceivable And see beyond my wildest imagination Lord, I come with great expectations. So wake the hope that slumbers in my soul Stir the fire inside and make it glow I'm trusting in the love that has no end The Savior of the world has called me friend And I, I've been invited with the Son Oh I, I've been invited to come and... repeat chorus We've been invited with the Son And we've been invited to come and... Believe the unbelievable Receive the inconceivable And see beyond our wildest imagination Lord, we come with great expectations. AND this one.... Speechless by S.C. Chapman/G. Moore from Speechless Words fall like drops of rain My lips are like clouds I say so many things just trying to figure You out As mercy opens my eyes my words are stolen away At this breathtaking view of Your grace Chorus: I am speechless I'm astonished and amazed I am silenced by Your wondrous grace You have saved me You have raised me from the grave I am speechless in Your presence now I'm astounded as I consider how You have shown us a love that leaves us speechless What kind of love could this be That would trade heaven's throne for a cross And to think You still celebrate Over finding just one that was lost To know You rejoice over us the God of this whole universe It's a story that's too great for words Repeat Chorus Oh, how great is the love That the Father has lavished upon us That we should be called the sons and the daughters of God We stand in awe of Your grace We stand in awe of Your mercy We stand in awe of Your love We are speechless We stand in awe of Your cross We stand in awe of Your power We are speechless We stand in awe of Your grace We are speechless, astonished and amazed We stand in awe of Your mercy We are silenced by Your wondrous grace We stand in awe of Your love You have saved us, You have raised us from the grave We are speechless We stand in awe of Your cross We are speechless in Your presence now We stand in awe of Your power We're astounded as we consider how We are speechless You have shown us a love that leaves us speechless Oh yeah, and one more that my Hubby says reminds him of Adoration/Mass Steven Curtis Chapman Speechless (1999) The Invitation in the palace in the land of mercy the king looked out from his throne he saw the sick and the homeless and hungry he saw me lost and without hope and moved with compassion he sent out his only son with the invitation to come this is your invitation come just the way you are come find what your soul has been longing for come find your peace come join the feast come in this is your invitation so i stood outside the gates and trembled in my rags of unworthiness afraid to even stand at a distance in the presence of holiness but just as i turned to go the gates swung open wide and the king and his only son they invited me inside so now will you come with me to where the gates swing open wide the king and his only son are inviting us inside this is our invitation come sinner as you are come find what your soul has been longing for come find your peace come join the feast come in this is your invitation this is our invitation this is the invitation Sooooo....whadday think?
