Pax domini bretheren...
Can i be saved and aid in the salvation of others if i base my entire religiosity on holy scripture(which includes prayer, fasting, meditating, and charity in word and deed.) and the holy sacraments.?

GOD bless you.
Onward christian souls.

Brother Adam

I would recommend reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church on justification and grace:

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s1c3a2.htm

Scripture is God's love letter to us, if we ignore the author of salvation and his Church and just fall in love with the letter, we have given up the most important parts of what the letter (scripture) calls us to.

108 Still, the Christian faith is not a "religion of the book." Christianity is the religion of the "Word" of God, a word which is "not a written and mute word, but the Word which is incarnate and living".[sup]73[/sup] If the Scriptures are not to remain a dead letter, Christ, the eternal Word of the living God, must, through the Holy Spirit, "open [our] minds to understand the Scriptures."[sup]74[/sup]

113 2. Read the Scripture within "the living Tradition of the whole Church". According to a saying of the Fathers, Sacred Scripture is written principally in the Church's heart rather than in documents and records, for the Church carries in her Tradition the living memorial of God's Word, and it is the Holy Spirit who gives her the spiritual interpretation of the Scripture (". . . according to the spiritual meaning which the Spirit grants to the Church"[sup]81[/sup]).
