That should tell you a lot. I like music, nature, and long walks to adoration. I'm head over heels for the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and the message that accompanied it to St. Faustina. Hmmm... what else...

MIKolbe
Greeting, newcomer. Welcome to my domain. I am Hasan. But you may call me Hasan. All that you see around you belong to me, including my many serfs who have already greeted you. You will come in time to both love and fear me. But you should rest content that my rule is benevolent. The vile bandit and anarchist agitator, Winchester, has attempted to undermine my glorious rule with his incessant probing into the moral foundations with which I justify my monopoly on the legitimate use of violence within my domain, but you should pay him no heed. The hand of justice shall apprehend him soon enough. Questions such as he raises only bring trouble. You may pay me your monthly tribute through paypal or snail mail, either is fine. Otherwise, you are free to retain that which you grow by the sweat of your brow.
fierce, there is a way that you can block members. let me know if you need assistance in this regard. fierce
I guess I should maybe also go ahead and tell you guys, too, that I'm gay. Not because it matters too much to a bunch of strangers, but because it was part of my motivation for signing up and getting involved. The online anonymity is a huge plus for me, as so many in the Church don't understand me or my struggle. It can be a very lonely life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I appreciate your respect and tenderness with this, as I assume the majority of you have no personal experience in this area. I'm happy to join what seems to be a very loving and tight-knit community, and to share our faith together. I hope to learn something from each of you, and maybe offer some perspective sometimes from my experience. I am sure we can all benefit from one another. filius_angelorum
Fierce, No, you are absolutely right. It doesn't matter to anyone except you. How you deal with the issue in accordance with the moral norm has got to be a huge struggle, but for the majority of us, I hope, we are more willing to help than to hurt and to support you in prayer rather than to castigate you for human weakness. God knows I have mine. Anyway, as someone who is not yet in a community, but feels called to a life of chastity, I take a lot of comfort in the fact that Jesus' life was "a very lonely life" (to use your words). So were the lives of most of the early saints. Thank God for prayer, and thank the Trinity for the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Consolation! Looking forward to getting to know you! PAX
I appreciate your response. It IS a huge struggle, but then, I know some struggle with pains much greater than mine. It is not that I am not capable of love or allowed it, it's simply very limited -- and yet, not limited at all. A part of me knows that my one love -- love of God -- is not in any way limiting, but rather, extremely free and wide and huge. I know on some level that my "orientation" allows me a freedom to love God in ways perhaps more difficult to other people. It feels a little bit like religious (i.e. consecrated persons in the Church) in that I am set apart and the sole focus of my love is on Christ. It has to be. And yet, that sole focus brings a pain very deep, and very real. Fortunately my one Love is greater than that pain and can heal it. I think in circles about it all. I will be happy to be in a place where it's okay to be exactly who I am -- no hiding -- and to share faith intimately with other believers. In my darkness, there exists much Light. I am blest, and I am grateful. Always.
