BG45
Okay when driving I also like more upbeat things or something with a beat in general (though this sometimes backfires "oh this music is making me a bit lead footed, when did I start going 15 over the limit?"). So here are a few I'd recommend: Baba Yetu - Soweto Gospel Choir. A version of the Our Father in Swahili, it's the first video game song to win a Grammy. It's upbeat, but reasonably paced, and while not in a language I speak, it's definitely giving praise. We Built This City on Rock and Roll - Jefferson Airplane. An oldie and a bit outside my normal genre, but love it for both driving and for workouts because of how it just seems to fly by. Video Killed The Radio Star - The Buggles. The very first song ever played on MTV. Yes it's about the dying medium that is radio, and therefore ironic for driving when the radio is one of the standard things in a car, but it's just so catchy! NY2LA - Press Play. Upbeat with a great Christian message about the love of God and spreading change wherever we go. Definitely one of the songs that brings out my lead foot. Dynamite - Taio Cruz. Okay one dropping of the f-bomb, but otherwise entirely upbeat and about living life to the fullest. Pray For Me - Plumb (cover). Plumb's cover of the Christian contemporary song "Pray for Me" is pretty much the only one I've heard that changes a normally sad sounding and morose song into a perky and fast paced whirlwind. Be My Escape - Relient K. I love almost everything this band puts out to an extent. It's old school Christian contemporary with a bit of a rock edge in a genre that seems to have fallen into the trap of "we have to sing fluffy sappy lyrics and repeat the same two lines fifty times". xTrishaxLynnx
I don't listen to the radio, generally, so I'd never heard the original until today, and a cover by Ingrid Michaelson a few days ago.
