Did anyone see McKayla Maroney's vault last night. The most perfect thing I ever seen in gymnastics.

I don't think that good Catholics should be watching the Summer Olympics because of the immodest "clothing" is too tempting. That's why God made the Winter Olympics.

Did they ever resolve the issue regarding the woman wrestler that wasn't allowed to wear her head scarf? Simply persecution against religious freedom to be modest.

I certainly hope FP isn't watching the Summer Olympics. He's said that he is barely in control of his animialistic mental sexual urges.

Yes! The women's gymnastics team was fantastic! I was so excited that Jordyn Wieber's routines went well after her tough situation the other day!

ETA: "Yes" to Papist's comment, not Anamoly. :) Though, I hadn't heard about the wrestler. That is disconcerting. Could it be that the fabric around her neck could become a danger while wrestling?

Yes. It has nothing to do with her religion. The material of the hijab is slippery and there's a concern that her neck will be injured if it's accidentally grabbed.

Anyone who lusts after a 16-year-old gymnast has more than chastity problems to worry about.

Saudi Arabia, which sent its first two female Olympians to the London Games, had only agreed to let women participate if they adhered to the kingdom's conservative Islamic traditions, including wearing a headscarf.
But on Thursday, the International Judo Federation said the Saudi fighter, Wojdan Ali Seraj Abdulrahim Shahrkhani, would not be allowed to wear a headscarf because it was against principles of judo and raised safety concerns.
Nicolas Messner, a spokesman for the International Judo Federation, said Friday that there was "good collaboration" to find a solution among judo officials, the International Olympic Committee and Saudi Arabia.
Messner said that wearing a headscarf could be dangerous because the sport includes chokeholds and strangleholds.
Asian judo federations have previously allowed Muslim women to wear the headscarf, known as a hijab, during major competitions. Headscarves are allowed in taekwondo, but taekwondo fighters also wear a headguard, which covers the headscarf.

[s]Allowed in judo?[/s]

Sorry, I reread your post and caught the Asian judo federations part. But was that the Olympics?
Why is it different if she is at the beach wearing a 1 piece?

The focus is on her athleticism and skill. She is being scrutinized for her performance. Any scrutiny of her uniform pertains to regulation requirements. She is competing in the Olympics. This is a professional competition. Not at the beach with girlfriends. And you won't have an easy time finding someone on Phatmass who has a problem with a standard one-piece bathing suit.

But like I said. She's a girl. Any man drooling over her legs needs to worry less about thighs and more about ephebophilia.

By the way - I am curious to hear your opinion on this. The Olympics are being held during Ramadan, thus giving the non-Muslim competitors an advantage over the Muslim competitors. Would you argue this is discrimination too? :)

That is an error by the Olympic Committee. Expect an apology from them.

That could be debatable. I think it's the media that sexualizes the sport, not the outfit. All the men and women athletes of the Olympics have beautiful physiques. The other day I caught men's swimming, they had great bodies and were in itty bitty speedos. But I think the overall atmosphere of the games is one of sportsmanship and skill, not lust.

If you think I'm "mad" then you need to go back to "interpreting internet posts 101" lol
