Annie12
So, as many of you know, there are businesses which are coming out in support of homosexual "marriage". What does the church teach about this? Can Catholics use the services of those businesses or do we have to not use them because they support immoral things?
Egidio
What a catholic cannot do, is knowingly support directly anything which is offensive to God. Shopping somewhere that supports "gay marriage", is not per se' supporting gay marriage, therefore it is morally licit. However if there is an alternative from which to obtain the essentials of life, and this alternative does not support the things which are offensive to God, clearly it is better to shop there. One must remember that the intention or 'end' of the act has an influence on its morality. If you shop at a 'gay supporting' store in order to support their stance on the matter, then clearly this is unacceptable; if however you shop there simply because there is nowhere else to obtain the required items, then there is no problem. If this wasn't the case, we would all have to stop buying anything made in China!!! AVE MARIA!
