Why Is Communion In The Hand Still Allowed?

I think directives and just laws can be held in the same regard.

If a directive is contradictory to ecclesiastical discipline or law than it is no directive at all. It is not disobedient to refuse to comply with an unjust law, it is also not disobedience to refuse to comply with an unjust directive.

I have to agree with this. And just to add another example, I know a priest who is having problems with a liberal superior right now. He told his superior he would appeal to Rome. The superior then ordered him under obedience not to go to Rome. He went anyway and had an interview at the Congregation for the Clergy. After stating his complaint there he asked them had he been disobedient in coming to Rome. The Congregation said: "Have no conscience qualms about coming to see us. We know perfectly well that obedience is being abused by superiors at times. You have not done anything wrong." Simply put, it seems to me there are times when you can disobey.

The thing about submitting to the Priest's erroneous will is that it's too easy. It's easy to stand up and recieve, and much harder to remain kneeling even to the point of making a scene.

Your new avatar looks like the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth commander in movie 1612 by Mikhailkov.

this is what i hate about these debates. because you have people like mortify who have no clue about people's spiritual lives, saying stuff like, "it's easy to blame it on obedience." which makes it sound like people are taking the "easy way out".

you don't know what people's spiritual lives are like, so why don't you quit making judgments on who has it easy?

I don't mean to be rude but this comment attracts attention away from my much more important observation.

Well, if you saw the movie you'd understand. He's kind of a Johnsonville brat but he's also 100% man.

After watching the video, I wonder if that kid goes around with stopwatches/timers to measure how long people genuflect, or yardsticks/protractors to measure if people's bows meet his standards?

It's happened to me a couple of times. The first couple of times I just submitted. Which I felt wasn't right, it didn't feel right I know that. The second time the EMHC changed his mind after 10 seconds of me holding my mouth open and waiting. A third time one EMHC outright refused even after 15 seconds of me holding my mouth open, it hurt me so greatly I began to weep, so I got up dried my face with the sleeve of my sheet walked towards the back of the church and got in another line where the Priest honored my right. So I would suggest a person not just give up, try every single priest or EMHC giving out communion, before excepting and submitting to a clear act against the Church. Even not receiving would be an option, one does not have to receive communion every single Sunday, and then that person can raise the issue with the priest. Should he refuse to honor the Church's teaching I would also suggest in that case, as I did before, that if all that fails, find another parish that is in union with and obedient to Rome when it comes to the right to receive communion on the tongue.
[/quote]I'm sorry. :( In my situation I chose to stand, but then contacted the priest later (I was visiting a different parish whilst on holiday). I am choosing to think the priest was simply not up-to-date on things. And of course we should pray for all our priests.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think he looks like the "Sham-WOW!" guy?

I doubt this baseless attack upon his character has any real truth to it. But maybe he needs a tinfoil hat to prevent people from reading his mind.
