Socrates
Well, what if it was the other way around? What if the place was donating to pro-Gay marriage groups, or worse yet, Planned Parenthood? We would be all "up in arms" about it too, so the reaction by the secular world doesn't surprise me. **Just playing Devils advocate here though! I totally agree with Marie-Therese and Lil Red**
The big problem, as I see it isn't that so-called "gay rights" and other private groups and such are organizing boycotts. While obviously, I'm 100% against the reasons for this particular boycott, I have absolutely no problem with boycotts in principle. In a free society and free market, consumers are free to choose to do business with or avoid business with whatever companies they want for whatever reason. If gays, liberals, and other degenerates want to boycott Chick-fil-A, that's their own problem. I'll simply increase my resolve to follow the advice of those goofy cows and "Eat mor chiken"! Yum! The big issue is that the mayors of Boston and Chicago blocking Chick-Fil-A from their cities because of the owners' personal religious and moral beliefs and donations to Christian organizations that hold these religious and moral beliefs. That's anti-Christian bigotry pure and simple by public officials. If mayors of cities were to similarly block businesses from their cities because of their owner's devout Muslim beliefs, the reaction from the bleedin' hearts would be entirely different. Anyhow, kudos for the Chick-fil-A folks for taking an unapologetically Christian public stance and not backing down to political correctness. Socrates
I'm not sure why more liberals aren't appalled by this. Imagine if a conservative mayor had said, "I won't allow Starbucks to set up shop here because of their position on gay marriage." Either situation is obviously un-American.
Modern "liberalism" has nothing to do with liberty, but about enforcing a particular politically-correct godless ideology.

But the Alderman from Chicago (with Rahm Emanuel's support) has stated that he would legally block a new Chick-Fil-A planned in his district. Dumb. Look, despite what "conservatives" will tell you, the world is not made up of some Armageddon-style brawl between God-fearing American patriots and liberal socialists. Let's cast aside, for a moment, the fact that "liberal" and "socialist" are a bit mutually exclusive as philosophies. The fact that gay people are irritated that Chik-Fil-A donates money to lobby causes in opposition to their own cause has nothing to do with conservatism, government, liberalism, socialism, or the price of tea in China. They tend to dislike and oppose those who like things that counter what they want. That is human nature, plain and simple. To try to boil this up in a pot and call it socialism or blame liberals is just, well, ridiculous. Gay people want to get married. Christians tend to hold the view that this is wrong. This does not change the facts of reality or the points I made. At the end of the day, this nation is pulled one of two ways. We go to the side of socialist ideology, or we go to conservative ideology. And today, we are being dangerously dragged to the socialist end. Many just want to eat chicken. But this great restaurant we live in, is currently going over a cliff to it's own destruction. You can claim I am overreacting. To Jesus Through Mary
I still want Chik-fil-a, and looked up and found out they have a location on NYU's campus.... guess where I'm going... Oh and if they want to boycott them, let them boycott. Pass me their waffle fries. Besides I doubt they are going to take down a chain who has the majority of their business in the Bible-belt... they really like waffle fries around those parts. (And the Kingdom of the World and the Kingdom of God have been at odds since the beginning of time. It didn't start with Obama or the gay-rights movement. Doubt a boycott is going to change that...) mmmmm waffle fries....
