Kylie Spinelli
When women become sisters or nuns, most change their name to their 'religious name.' So if a sister (or brother, IDK if they change their names too...) gets canonized as a saint, which name is it under? to they become Saint Jane Doe, or Saint Sister Mary Joseph? (IDK I just made up that name LOL) Just curious! I ask a lot of goofy questions, I know Thanks and God Bless!!
cappie
Under their religious name (if they have one). Edith Stein is Saint Teresia Benedicta of the Cross. Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe was born Raymund Kolbe.St Fidelis of Sigmaringen, O.F.M. Cap. was born Mark Roy or Rey in 1577. Sometimes saints may have retained their baptismal name but with an embellishment which becomes their "saints name" e.g.Mary Helen MacKillop (15 January 1842 – 8 August 1909) was canonised Saint Mary of the Cross Edited July 25, 2012 by cappie
