hey ladies! if you're visually stimulated, you're abnormal, and bonus: you're also immoral, promiscuous, and darn you, you probably would like to be treated more fairly than women have been in the past!

This is insulting. The only difference is that male vision starts at the chest and works his way around whereas the female looks at the WHOLE man first, then looks at the various parts. We rely more on our sense of smell and hearing, but don't ever think we are not looking, we simply have different criteria.

You definitely have this wrong. I've heard this from a good number of men who consider themselves to be conservative; they have used it as an excuse to go jogging outside wearing nothing but shorts and sneakers. When I point out their hypocrisy, they call me an aberration - like I'm wrong for noticing good looking musculature. Their other female friends keep quiet for fear of being called immoral &/or promiscuous. It's just silly to think women don't notice - ever heard of Magic Mike?

Well, this is quickly turning into "dogpile on Ed Normile."

Not that he doesn't deserve it or anything...

Well, remember that I am speaking from a different era as I am to be 52 years old the end of this month. Back when I was a young man I was in great condition, I ran, not jogged actually ran 6 miles every morning with my peers from the boxing gym, by the way we would wear sweats. We were all in great shape at that time, I never heard a woman whistle at any of us and say " great a** " as two young girls around my sons age did when we were working on a parking lot. Now excuse me if I think this is abnormal, or promiscuos, but hey, thats just old fashioned me. So you girls are in complete agreement that you are all just as visually stimulated as men, and I thought women were the thinkers, my bad. I guess you girls have evolved into testosterone crazed beings just like men, congratulations, you've come a long way baby!

C'mon, if the womens lib movement was truly about women being treated fairly, then it would be over by now. IMO it was started by old hags who were beyond the things they wanted to accomplish, you do not see Carol Hanish getting her leg shot off in the desert or Shulamith Firestone being raped during a raging war in some foreign country, they won those " equalities " for younger women, good job. I remember someone posted a thread here about the catholic american servicman who was demoted as he refused to perform his duty in a nuclear silo as his companion was a woman and he was expected to have sexual relations with her to " ease the tension ", now this woman is an equal as she is expected to have sex and this man is wrong as he fought against this idea as it went against his religious convictions. What a great deal these Redstockings fought so hard for.

Also, please excuse me if I feel the great feminist works like " Lesbians in Revolt " written by Charlotte Bunch and published in 1972 in "The Furies " a Washington DC Lesbian-Feminist newspaper is abnormal, maybe you kids are too young or just ignorant of the facts but much of the Feminist Movement was spearheaded by lesbians, and I just have this feeling that lesbians are " abnormal " but again, thats just old fashioned me...

That makes as much sense as me saying all old men are rude jerks. You are, but not all. Those young women were disrespectful, but not all are.

I was wrong to think there were no thinkers left among women, you have come to the conclusuon that I am a rude jerk as I think lesbians are abnormal? I also see that in your haste to judge me as rude you imagined/invented I somewhere stated all young women are disrespectful, spoken like a true disciple of the american school system! Its good to see that the teachers are doing a superlative job training the youth what to think these days. Back when us rude jerks were taught, we were encouraged to learn how to think, not just accept what is taught as truth. As far as my thinking all young women are jerks, you could not be further from the truth and your ignorance of me as a father of a young independant woman, engaged to be married to a fine young catholic gentleman, having over 35 neices and growing up with 3 sisters I well know what real ladies are, and how they act and behave. perhaps in the future , before you base an inept judgement on something you thought you read, maybe you could take the time to read the post again, slowly, so you could comprehend it, and ask yourself, gee, where did he say "all young women are disrespectful". That is an amazing leap coming from a comment on two 20 something girls who flirted with my adult son.

Cmother, what part of my post are you referring too, or is it just jump on the bandwagon as I insulted the feminist movement? I mean these one-liners although cute are meaningless, and should be beneath one so offended, afterall early feminists marched, burned their bras, condemned the catholic church, and encouraged lesbian love and free sex and abortion, yet all you can offer is a cutesy retort without a single example of what I have said to draw this out of you.

Ed, you did exactly what I warned about in my first post. My second post was meant to point that out. At this point I see no reason to beat the dead horse. You made my point.

go back to post 11 and start over....

The early feminists wanted to vote, have equal pay for equal work and not to be second class property of men. They wanted to educate their daughters to have a better life than they currently enjoyed. They wanted equality with men. As with all social movements, extremism always lurks at the fringes, and the pendulum swung to far. Its still an improvement over life 100 years ago.

And where did God say women had to wear bras...

Adrestia, this is your first post. I see no warning as you stated I " did exactly what you warned about in your first post" did i jog wearing shorts and sneakers in front of you, or maybe its I have no idea what a " Magic Mike " is?

And by the way, I respect you as a woman enough, even though I do not know you, I respect you as a woman with the potential to be a mother, to raise christian children, to be an educator, to be a loving spouse, to be a caregiver, to be all or any part of the wonderful and awe inspiring images of womanhood that God allows and enocurages women to be that I would never call you a jerk.

Finally some substance, although not at all what I was talking about. I agree the early feminists were promoting a just and righteous cause, as I wrote earlier if the movement was truly about womens equality it would be over now, it has been corrupted by immorality. Women that were treated as property or abused by their husbands were not only being treated improperly they were being treated unchristian, just look athe role God gave Mary to understand the value of womanhood.

Man I am having fun.

He's a male prostitute in a movie that women are currently fawning over. You know, the ones who aren't visual.
