Guest Raz
Holy shit dude, 46k posts? Seriously... who is the real troll here...
franciscanheart
I just googled that, too. I saw a couple things that said it defines curls but makes your hair less voluminous unless you diffuse it a bit while it's damp after taking the towel off (so not sleeping with it on, but just wearing it for 10-20 mins). My hair is so long and heavy less volume at the roots is the last thing I need. lol My curls are really well defined, anyway. I don't think plopping is for me. Frannie, you'll have to let us know how it works for you! :) You've seen my curls -- it's limp up top and spirals at the bottom. I've a ton of fine hairs so when it's as long as it is, I struggle with getting the tight, smooth curls I love. When I shower and do nothing, I get curls but they end up REALLY fluffy and undefined. When I do oil + leave-in + mousse, I get definition but much more flat to spiral. Plopping for 30monutes has helped give definition without totally flattening me up top. The question is this: will plopping help hold my curl overnight? I know I've lamented to you before that my curls always look best right before I have to do a rinse. I'm fingers-crossed, hoping this works to get me there faster (and then keep me there) overnight.

(PS, I posted my daily products, it showed up on the bottom of page 4, I don't know if you saw it or not.)

I've tried on several occasions and had good luck with it. Sometimes too much good luck with it. haha. a little bit of root lift goes a long way. I've tried that, too (I saw it on a Mixed Chicks youtube tutorial for how to get the most out of their products). Either my hair is too long or I move too much because my hair is still crazy (and not in a good way) the next morning. lol
Lil Red
I just let my hair be free. LOL
IcePrincessKRS
I sleep with a ponytail, otherwise it gets all up in my face and irritates me (also because it's easier to keep out of my husband's face. Snuggling with a face full of hair kind of takes away from the experience, I guess). I don't bother with the top of my head thing since it didn't help anyway. Lil Red
I guess my hair is just too short right now to put up at night any way.
IcePrincessKRS
Maybe. I don't think I pulled it back when my hair was about the length of yours. Part of my problem might be how much I move around (I really do think I move a lot lol), and I generally fall asleep on my stomach. In that position my hair tends to fall more on my face than when I lie on my side. Edited April 10, 2013 by IcePrincessKRS
ploomf
I have super long hair that I have to braid at night otherwise it tries to kill me, I've woken up with it covering my face or wrapped around my neck before.
missionseeker
i get a shower every morning so its a moot point for me. sometimes i fall asleep with it in some sort of quickly thrown up twist/bun type deals and in the morning, it literally stands (as) straight out (as curly hair can be said to stand straight out)

I wake up with a bizarre combination of frizzy and matted curls and whatever has managed to come out of my ponytail sticks out in a giant halo. I tend to get a lot more flattening up top so I'm left with gorgeous curls in the bottom half, born of really limp and lame looking hair in the top half. :ohno: I've tried that, too (I saw it on a Mixed Chicks youtube tutorial for how to get the most out of their products). Either my hair is too long or I move too much because my hair is still crazy (and not in a good way) the next morning. lolYES. Hahaha! I end up with REALLY cute bed head and some badass curls on the bottom, but as soon as I have to look presentable, I'm still challenged. :hehe: I just let my hair be free. LOLMy hair also sleeps freely... for now. :ninja: I have super long hair that I have to braid at night otherwise it tries to kill me, I've woken up with it covering my face or wrapped around my neck before.WRAPPED AROUND THE NECK IS THE WORST! I HATE that feeling. It happens to me most often when I sleep in a hoodie. (That's probably my own fault though since I'm sure I tug at it so I won't lie on top of it. Hate hate hate lying on top of it -- and that's SO easy to do.) My routine is pretty similar, with the rare night shower thrown in. I wake up with a bizarre combination of frizzy and matted curls and whatever has managed to come out of my ponytail sticks out in a giant halo.I've been doing most of my showering at night lately because that's when I go to the gym. :( As soon as I can justify a second shower in the morning, I might start doing that. Or if I can figure out a way to do an ACV rinse in the sink without making a huge mess...
PhuturePriest
I touch all the time when it's dry without qualms. The real problem is touching WET or DAMP hair as it creates frizz. And if you're doing any pulling, separating, other weird touching (AND you have curly hair), you risk interrupting your natural curl patterns. My hair isn't overly curly, but when it gets long like it is now it starts to curl at the ends.
