From what I can tell, they get a bunch of people to contribute money each month that goes into a general pot for health needs. If a member is ill, they somehow submit proof of the money they need and then the necessary amount comes out of the general pot.

It's an amazing idea in theory, but with medical costs as high as they are, I have no idea how they would realistically make it work. And what happens when other members suddenly back out or fall on hard times and can't afford their contribution? Etc.

However, it seems to be that the guys behind this are well aware of those questions, are doing their homework and are going to give this their best effort. A Q&A page notes that there are similar organizations that are Christian out there which have been successful for almost 20 years.

I would love for this to work out. We'll have to wait and see where it goes, I guess.
