Not entirely true. Mostly it's because you're still young.

I actually think pickiness runs in my family, if this is possible. My sister is twenty one and she is still picky about food (That is, until she gets pregnant). I will probably be in the same boat. This is interesting, though. Hopefully I will one day be able to appreciate coagulated milk, if such a thing is possible.

You can actually teach yourself to like new things. My friend showed me how. He hated beer, so in order to like it, every day he woke up, opened the mini-fridge by his bed, cracked open a beer (natty ice, one of the worst beers), and drank it before he did anything else. After a month of this, he actually somewhat enjoyed it. Then he tried some better beers and he loved them.

Then a few months later he did the same thing with coffee. He bought one of the coffee makers that has an alarm clock and if you prepare it the night before it will brew you coffee for when you wake up. Every morning he would wake up and drink a cup of black coffee before he did anything. By the end of the month he absolutely loved coffee and was having fun experimenting with various flavors and blends.

Learning from his example, I taught myself to like peanut butter (I wanted to save money on lunch because lunchmeat was getting to be too expensive) by sitting down every evening with a jar of peanut butter and a spoon and I'd eat 3-4 big scoops of it every night. Now I thoroughly enjoy it, having pb&j every day for lunch and will occasionally have toast and peanut butter.

If you are willing to force it for a couple weeks I guarantee you can teach yourself to like everything. I should note that this technique won't necessarily make it your favorite food but you will be able to honestly enjoy it.

I kind of did that with oatmeal. Not quite like that, but I HATED oatmeal, and I really, really wanted to like it, because I know it's healthy and cheap. So, one day, I decided I was going to eat oatmeal and like it. And I tried making it like 10 different ways, and could NOT stomach it AT ALL. Part of it was a texture thing, and part of it was that it just didn't seem to have any taste. So, I gave up. A year or two later, I came across some chocolate oatmeal at the store and bought that, because I figured if ANYTHING was going to get me to eat oatmeal, it would be chocolate. And I was actually able to choke down a full bowl. Then I decided to add nuts, to give it a little more of a crunch, and the 2nd bowl was actually kind of good. And by the time I got through the first box (five packets) I was willing to spend my money on a second box. I didn't eat it every day, but I actually started to want it for breakfast on occasion. Then we moved, and I couldn't find it at the store, so I started making my own. And I slowly branched out into not chocolate flavored oatmeal, and I really like now!

From all the baby weaning stuff I've read, you really do have to try things more than once to know if you actually like them (well, in the case of baby weaning, the baby needs to try it again).

That said, I have grown to be a very picky eater. When I was a kid, I would eat anything. My brothers told my Grandma that if I wouldn't eat it, there was no way they would even try it. I am getting slightly less picky as I have been trying to incorporate new things into my diet, but I still dislike a lot of foods I used to eat all the time.

I haven't been doing it nearly as drastically, but I've been slowly weaning myself off of flavored oatmeal which should again help me save more money.

The only problem I've been running into is that when I go to morning mass, I go straight from there to work, so I can't do the oatmeal for breakfast and I have to bring a container of cereal instead which isn't helping the costs lol.

Try a Clif bar. That are very portable and surprising filling.

They're very good and very filling, but I just glanced at prices online (without shipping because I'd just buy it at the grocery store) and they're more expensive than the cereal I currently buy.

Black Cats, Roman Candles, sparklers, M-80's, and beer. That's all any party needs to be a success.

Yes !! these make for an especially fun party in these dry conditions, before you know it you will be entertaining members of the Fire Department and various Law Enforcement officers too ! What a hoot !

Should be only $1 each. If you just need something to hold you over for a little while you could only eat half a Clif bar.

Yes, I saw that price and I even saw a couple places where I could buy it for 60 cents each. I'm comparing this to a small box of cereal for $1 with 3-5 servings depending on how hungry I am.

I'm assuming that stuff is already there, I'm looking for something extra that I could bring as a guest.
