La Salette Messages Back Up Three Days Of Darkness.

"Now is the time; the abyss is opening. Here is the King of Kings of darkness, here is the Beast with his subjects, calling himself the saviour of the world. He will rise proudly into the air to go to Heaven. He will be smothered by the breath of the Archangel Saint Michael. He will fall, and the earth, which will have been in a continuous series of evolutions for three days, will open up its firy bowels; and he will have plunged for eternity with all his followers into the everlasting chasms of hell. And then water and fire will purge the earth and consume all the works of men’s pride and all will be renewed. God will be served and glorified.” -La Salette message
It mentions not only the darkening of the sun in the la salete messages but the "series of evolutions for three days ". Padre Pio was also given the messages concerning the three days of darkness and it matches to a "t" the message of Our Lady. I also found references to the three days of darkness in the Bible. 2 Peter 3 for example mentions "the elements will be dissolved with a fire". I found other places in the Bible but can't find them right now.sorry! :P

So, I guess I'm just asking people to be on the look out for evil in the world; even the most small because if we don't conduct our lives with great sanctity we will forsake ourselves. I know no one is made to believe apparitions and the like but I think we should at least listen to the call for greater sacticty of our lives, repentance and courage to bring the light of God out onto the world. I truly believe my Pham are some of the holiest people I know and I hope no one will ever give up on the good fight againts the evil one. ( I hope I don't come off as a looney!) I hope these are word of encouragement and if you want to disscuss this I think that would be so cool!!!

I hate to be critical, but you really should be much more careful about paying heed to visionaries.

Obviously we should strive for sanctity, but we must be extremely cautious about being motivated to do anything by fear. Ignatious always said that a desire to act out of fear is one we should treat with great caution, as fear is a favorite tool of the devil and one not generally employed by God.

I have friends and relatives who have been driven to great scrupulosity or despair or both as a result of fearing for their own souls, no thanks to false visionaries. Be wary, please.

I will be praying for you.

The visions of La Salette are approved by the Church Arf. I get the scrupulosity thing but this isn't considered "false visionaries"

I can understand what Arfink is saying but I'm not acting out of fear but just pose what I wrote above as motavation to live a holy life. No matter what we all will be called home to th father but if we didn't obaye him it is our own fault. Aprooved apparitions often help people to become motivated to reinvigorate a posibally dead spiritual life by motivating people to pray for example. I don't think I'm being persuaded by the devil or anything. I have a good head on my shoulders and try my best to look out for inconsistencies with church teachings. And heck! What I'm saying (about being alert) is found all over the Bible!!! If I just stuck to church teachings and the Bible, I would still have reason to think what I do because the things I cite are church approved or originated from saints (I.e. credible people).

If I am not mistaken, the piece Annie quotes is from Mélanie's "secret," which has not been formally recognized.

I'm not saying I disapprove of your motives, but only that I am concerned for you because of what I have seen happen to other people who I love dearly.

I took the sun will be darkened and the moon turning blood red that all pleasure/power will be removed from the greater sins, and that the lesser sins representing the moon will be be dulled, so pretty much i believe the pleasure/power will be removed from all sins.

p.s. well i shouldn't say i believe because i don't know, it's just a stab in the dark.

or perhaps it's more simple than that and we will enter a heat age where no one will enjoy the temperature of the sun because of it's heat for 300 or 3000 years, and it will cause much rain because it evaporates some of the ocean. If we have had an ice age before possibly we will have a heat age. And the moon being red thing i guess what does red mean officialy in christianity, i was led to believe from a previous ester booklet that green=faith , purple=justice and gold/yellow=power , i don't know what red represents though.

The actual secrets of La Salette were found in the archives of Pope Leo XIII when those were opened up to scholars. The version that Melanie published in 1877 has little resemblance to the carefully written and witnessed version she gave five years after the apparitions. The 1877 version was eventually condemned and placed on the Index of Forbidden Books. You can read more here as well as the original secrets: http://www.miraclehu...ette/index.html

Art, noting that there is peril ahead does not require fear. The Church believes there will be alot of termoil at some time in the futere with the antichrist and the tribulation that will occur. We are not to be afraid of these things. Apparitions require he same kind of trust in God if they prophesy 3 days of darkness in the future. Our Catholic faith does not tell us that we need to reject any termoil that is predicted in the futher. It calls us to faith when they do happen. We should of course have some healthy skepticism of some of these things and make sure we understand them as they are intended. I believe there is some credibility with regard to the three days of darkness.

Actually, the one you quoted is part of the condemned version. The text of the actual secret Melanie gave is quite different.
