BG45
I know Cma already asked for prayers for South Jersey, thought I'd do the same for my area of WV back home that got hit by the same storm. Trees are down all over the place, my cousin M. has one through her storage shed and is grateful it hit the shed and not the house with her kids in it. One of the schools in my hometown has no roof now, and its roof mounted air conditioning was flung through someone's home. The entire front of the Ollie's was ripped off and put into the parking lot. You can't get gasoline in most counties for love or money, because there's no power to pump it with. The main power provider in the area is placing the number without power at 560,000 or so of their customers; while the unofficial word is 3-7 days, the official statements released by the power company refuses to speculate when power will return. The water board in my home town has put out a statement (that no one there can read) asking people to save water, because they're on generator power running at under half of normal capacity and primarily using it for emergency service providers. They expect that their filtration and pumping efforts will fail by Sunday morning because there won't be gas for the generators. They're already trying to set up the delivery of water supplies to the communities for when this inevitability occurs. Some people who subsist mostly off of supplies they keep frozen have lost upwards of a year of meat. No one can buy bottled water or anything, because the stores are all shut down and locked up without cash registers. People with medical supplies that need electricity are pretty much out of luck. No media outlet I've checked has word on how long the hospitals' emergency generators are going to last, just that they're priorities from the power company's POV to get back on first. So if you could, prayers please Pham, for the people of North Central WV.
