brianthephysicist
I sprayed the pyrethrins (adulticides) last night and it worked amazing. Still waiting on the precor to come in the mail, but now instead of hundreds of adult fleas roaming, I only have to worry about newly hatched ones. I walked all over my apartment this morning and only saw 2 fleas. Thanks again guys
Papist
I'd shave my head just to be safe.

I just might do that. After all, Missy never had a real conversation with me until after I shaved my head. She must prefer my head shaved. I'm gonna look AMAZING for her friend's wedding in a couple weeks.

Seriously, the Precor will help with breaking the life cycle of the fleas for any eggs you miss, are carrying on your clothes, etc. You don't want to turn into Howard Hughes. I (and others I know) have used the Precor/pyrethin regieme to take care of pretty bad flea infestations without torching, shaving, or moving to the moon, while still having cats and dogs. Then again, legit use of hellfire missles would be sweet.

I'd miss messing with your hair, but I'd cope. Unless you shave the beard too. Then I'll cry. And I won't recognize you. You'd look like your brother and that would just be weird. I was really truly going to let you grow it out so you could have a fro for Halloween, but it's way too close to the other wedding for that. Next year. <3 Unless there's another wedding then. AnneLine
I'll second C-Mom on the bug bomb / fogger. Gives you a good reason to take the day off, too..... Had a friend with a seeing-eye dog who brought the dang things into my house at one point.... and it never occurred to me that i had them until I LITERALLY found my bed hopping. Then realized the floor was, too! NOT a good moment. Bug bomb worked like a charm. Be a little careful, Brian, to be sure you aren't combining too many products.... we don't want you to go the way of the fleas..... but they sure are like one of the plagues of egypt, aren't they! fides' Jack
There's also some stuff you can apply to the base of the back of your neck - where it's hard to reach so you don't accidentally wipe it off.

brianthephysicist
Man, this stinks. When I placed the order, it said the Precor would be here by Friday. I just checked the tracking number and it won't get here until Saturday. oh well, one more day won't kill me.

Theyll die as perpetual middle schoolers Did you ask the landlord to give you a rent discount for getting rid of the fleas?

My plan is to use it in conjunction with the pyrethrins I've been spraying every day as someone here (I believe it was you but not sure) suggested. carmenchristi
btw... didn't read the whole thread, but the bagless vacuums are the best for dealing with fleas.... especially the ones that use water to collect the dust in. Empty it out in a plastic bag and put it outside right away... clean the vacuum really well when ur done.
carmenchristi
also... it's almost a disadvantage that you don't have pets... you could just flea bomb the place and use frontline on your pet. That way anything that didn't die from the pesticides will die when it jumps on your pet and bites it. Also keep in mind, fleas take 3 months to get rid of. So don't think you're out of the deep water the first time you treat the place.... I'm a dog groomer
Mercy me
The pyrethrin will work. It is my choice. It kills on contact, doesn't leave a residue and doesn't harm humans. It is actually organic from the marigold if I remember correctly. The precor will get any new arrivals.
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
So sad your being taken over by critters of the creepy crawly kind. Jeepers creepers better shut your peepers. Reminds of an old testament verse that says something like "mould and silverfish will devour your house." just net bible search mould and silverfish, maybe the answer is in there somewhere around that verse, unsure why the mould and silver fish where taking over.
