Saturday, July 7th. Tickets $15.

Events include speakers, mass, confession, adoration, and music by various artists including the Ike Ndolo Band.

I still haven't decided whether or not I'm going, but I'd like to pass it on in case others are interested.

I suggest a change in marketing.

Hey, this would be better viable against the atheist and agnostic market.

Considering it's a Youth Conferance, I wouldn't imagine Intellects being interesting for youth, but then it may be different up north.

Otherwise, I'm not a big fan of Aquinas, but don't tell anyone....hehe

I get what you're saying about intellects for Christ, but it's based off of the line somewhere in 1st Corinthians about being a fool for Christ. The vocations director has been giving a series of "homilies" at our monthly adoration that all touch on this theme. It just seemed a natural theme for the conference.

It great they have Confession and Adoration.

But the Mass in the Concert Hall scares me, especially when the worship leader is posing with a guitar.

Cause obviously youth want to sing worn out hymns that they hear every Sunday...It's a wonder any of them stay in church until confirmation honestly...

And the worship leader is graduated from FUS, I think he can be trusted.

The conference is at a college and they don't have a church on campus and they're expecting a TON of people. Every month the vocations director holds a holy hour and we fill the church beyond capacity. Granted, it might not be a crazy big church, but it's big enough to know that we're going to need a ton of seats for this mass. Especially since they're doing a ton of advertising for this, it really looks like they're gonna double or triple that number for this event.

The worship leader posing with the guitar doesn't scare me. I've met him, he's legit. He's always very good at meeting up with the priest ahead of time to make sure his plans are appropriate. He's worked with the vocations director before (at the monthly holy hours) and they get along very well. The Mass won't be Latin hymns on the organ sung by a trained choir, but it won't be lifeteen either.

Overall, it looks really good. Perhaps it was unjust to assume. It is just I've attended my fair share of these, mostly as a volunteer/chaperone.
