Snarf
If you suffer an ethical delima of giving money to pro-choicers, just go on ebay and buy the cds used. It's perfectly legal. I personally think that it's intellectual suicide to throw out art because you don't agree with the beliefs of the artist. Oh, and I'm sure Nuns in a Blender belong in that list as well. i feel like im taking crzy pills
Well, yes, I am a little sad because I listen to some of those bands. I don't think that I will stop listening to their music just because they have their own opinions and speak freely about them. I have my own opinions as well. As a Catholic person, I know that it is wrong that they have that view point, but I don't really see it reflected in their music. Someone please message me and explain... Snarf
Hey, my school made me start taking crazy pills. Zyprexa specifically. They made me gain a ton of weight I'm trying to lose.
StMichael
This goes back to Ethics 101, just because you listen to a band who supports abortion does not NECESSARILY mean you support abortion.
Sorry, but if you enrich someone, both financially and in status, who is against the teachings of the Church you are in effect supporting their views. The thing many seem to not want to see is how EVERYTHING in this world is connected. If you buy a No Doubt record. Buy their concert tickets, buy their merch, etc. you are handing over a few hundred dollars every other year to them. You will tune into MTV or Fuse to see them. You will be part of their body count when they do a promotion, all the time saying I'm here to see them. Remember they in turn employ people who THINK like them. They use your money to raise their status and thusly their message. On the other hand, if you wanted to work for No Doubt, maybe part of the road crew and you cited your Catholic beliefs, no matter how great you did your job, you be would fired because you would be bringing down the crew, etc. Furthermore, it is not just monetary, but you put yourself in a position to question your own stance, possibly weakening it by participating in a futile attempt at separating the 2 which can't be separated. Solving the problem is not making it harder to solve by strengthing it.
