you could do a week long hard core adventure course once a season for 4 years, that would be close.

Once again you have proven there is a method to your madness. I was thinking about our conversation awhile back and how you thought I should go "out into the wild" for a bit before deciding to enter Religious life. All my life I have been obsessed with the Marines and I was watching a documentary on them today. I was thinking maybe four years of being yelled at makes for a good and disciplined Priest (Something we need these days). Plus, it just appeals to me so much. Good going, now my mother is going to shoot me just for thinking about it again...

What is "something never said by a canonized saint ever?"
But jamie...you should never be ashamed of your youth, because God calls young people to do things all the time...

Gah!! I was SO close.

You'd never have made it anyway--you're more of a Maoist anyway...

Nope. Vegan lesbian Muslim from Polynesia who works at a fair trade coffee shop and has a manga-looking tattoo of Karl Marx above her left breast.

YOU KNOW GINA?!

I'm not sure if you understand the implications of this, but I'm from Kansas. It would be difficult enough to even find an openly lesbian woman, let alone a vegan of either sex or sexual orientation. I can honestly say I have never met a vegetarian or vegan in my life.

Are you serious right now?

Re: the bolded part -- I know more than one openly gay woman who lives in Kansas, and I'm guessing they aren't the only ones there. In fact, I'm sure of it. I think your assumption probably has a lot to do with age and environment.

Re: vegan / vegetarian -- Again, probably age and/or environment. I don't know if you live in rural or urban Kansas, but I'd be you there are at least 50 vegetarian or vegan options in your state. Ask your parents if they know any vegetarians; I bet you'll be surprised. If you aren't, well that's just weird.

sounds like a good idea...and then use the money you make during your tour to help fund your seminary work or donate it to a needy cause.

yeah, FP just because you ont know any gay people in your high school doesnt mean anything. in most places, people stay in the closet through highschool, i didnt personally know anyone who was openly gay in highschool.

why, you ask? because teenagers are cruel cruel people, and will seize on any difference to exploit.

I'm actually not talking about high school. Remember, I'm home schooled, though I do know many of the people at the school due to a karate demo done years ago at the gym. Everyone knows me by name. I feel like Bruce Willis. :hehe2:

I was referring to adults. I only know of one lesbian around here. I live in that cross-place between rural and urban Kansas. There are many towns here, though a lot of the land here is farmland. I am serious when I say I have never met a vegetarian or vegan before, though. The closest things are the Muslim and Jewish construction guys, but they technically eat meat, so it doesn't count. The only vegetarian I am going to be able to say I have met this far in life is a lady from out of state that is coming here for something I can't remember. I just know I am going to serve the food for it.

Sorry I get the privilege of breathing actual air and looking at the stars. Let us not forget General George Washington lived in the country and he turned out to be a flippin' amesome general.

Honey, I'm from a pretty rural part of Florida. You don't have to tell me about the benefits of not living in the city. But, you're from a state where the largest city is shared with another state, and the next largest metro area after that - Wichita - is the 86th largest in the country (just behind Boise, and several slots behind Toledo, Syracuse, and Akron, Ohio). It's not exactly the concrete jungle out there.
