Basilisa Marie

Sorry UK, I can't hear you over the sound of my freedom. :P

But in all seriousness, may God bless her and her family! :)

When is her idiot son going to gain some self respect and find an actual job that doesn't involve waiting for his mother to die?

So much Christian charity on here.

You made a political statement. It's not charitable to disguise the truth that the Royals are a lot of parasites.

I was happy to leave it at a simple joke until that stupid holier than thou reference to charity. Charity is not 'being nice'. It's not "Oh gee, sure glad one particular someone has been sucking money out of the pockets of the Brits in order to amble around and be a symbol of a long dead British monarchy for longer than anyone else (even those who were actually monarchs)."

Ash Wednesday

I live in the UK. But as an American, I cannot relate to the jubilee celebration at all, and to be honest I don't understand what purpose royals really serve ANY country in this day and age. Perhaps someone would be kind to explain it to me, as I find it a somewhat foreign, impractical and outdated concept. I do not mean to be rude, I just don't get it.

For what it's worth, I really like English churches and the English approach to Catholicism. Y'all don't thrust your hands into my personal space demanding that I hold it during the Our Father. :)

Ash Wednesday

I will say that I do think William seems like a genuinely nice prince, along with his wifey. Just don't get that... whole thing.

God save the Queen!

I am actually American but I am a monarchist and I absolutely love England way more than America. There are some economic problems, but that's the fault of a Prime Minister or two, not the Queen.

I am curious, though, who is the current Prime Minister and is he in your opinion doing a good job?

It was also illegal for some time to brandish an item in a threatening manner, even in self defense.

Great place.

And the reason it isn't her fault is because she's a national pet devoid of real power.

For some time? Meaning this law no longer exists?

To understand the great importance of the King and Queen, despite not having much power, you have to watch The King's Speech. It explains why near the end of the movie.
