Socrates
Yeah, I heard him say that. The Poles are rather rightly offended that he made that mistake when literally millions of their people died in them... Liking the 2 liter idea LOL. Or the warning label.
Not only that, but Dear Leader refused to meet with Lech Walesa, who brought down Communist rule in Poland, in the White House because he is "too political." http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/301474/president-obama-shuns-lech-walesa-rory-cooper

I have a lot of respect for Walesa. Very brave man. But there are a few things I take issue with. To begin with, Obama did not refuse to meet with Walesa. The claim from the Wall Street Journal is that the White House refused to allow him to accept the award on behalf of the recipient. I doubt that was Obama's personal decision as I somehow think that such matters fall more the the aids than the President. But it was a reasonable one for an aid to make who has to protect his boss. Walesa snubbed Obama last time Obama was in Poland and has made comments about him that would make me uneasy about inviting him to accept the award in those circumstances as it could lead to a very embarrassing situation. PadrePioOfPietrelcino
Well, be thankful you have a slight accent. In Kansas there are no accents. There's no real culture here, unfortunately. Living in a place with diverse cultures must be interesting, if not a terrifying culture shock for someone like me.
FP Kansas DOES have a unique culture. As someone who was born, raised, and lived in Kansas AND traveled the world as well as all over the U.S. I can tell you that our Kansas culture of being generally grounded, faithful and trustful individuals. Hard workers and easily able to appreciate validity in other cultures and adapt into acceptable modes of behavior in those cultures. These are all signs of our unique and quality Kansas culture. We also have the unique ability to realize that Government exists to help protect people from others who would harm them rather than try to protect them from themselves. Thus I can buy as large a pop as they are willing to sell me if I so choose.
Well, I haven't quite traveled the world, but I have traveled through much of the U.S., and I don't think no culture was the right word, but perhaps an interesting culture. We come from the land of farms, vast country, and our fair share of wheat and corn. It's not really a wonder why books on different cultures do not usually include us. And I'm not too sure on the trustful individuals thing. I come from a relatively small town of nine hundred people and everyone knows everything about everyone's business because everyone wants to know and everyone is just a little too eager to share. I don't know if that's because we have nothing else to do, but that's how it goes in "these here parts", as the popular saying goes. Kansas is very socially conservative, but I don't think that's not so much a part of the culture but a popular way of thinking. I don't know, I could be wrong on that, but those are just my thoughts on the matter without having spent too many sleepless nights on it.
