EmilyAnn
Like, seriously? If people want soda that darn badly they'll just buy two of them. Of all the things time and effort could be spent on, this? Really? One of the dumbest things I've heard in ages.
arfink
But just think- if they banned pop then we could have a whole underground of soda sellers. It'd be like the prohibition all over again! In fact, I'm gonna go get me a fedora and a chopper right now! Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam
Out where I am in California, they are trying to ban foie gras, which is a liver from a fat goose or duck. It is so tasty but they say it is inhumane. This from the same place, San Francisco, where McDonalds is not allowed to sell toys in their Happy Meals b/c it encourages childhood obesity. I am so tired of pro-abortion people who live near me defending abortion over choice and then turn around and defend these kinds of things. If one is going to have a political philosophy enshrining human choice then do so or quit pretending that deep down you defend abortion because one cannot speak to the good or ill of another person's decision (Note* this is not the same as judging another person). This entire law is so stupid. First off: Can't somebody just buy two sixteen ounce drinks, or is that going to be banned, too? Secondly, this law does not affect alcoholic drinks. So guess what? Now the population is just going to drink more alcohol. Way to go, government, now more car crashes and bar fights will occur. Government thinking never fails...
No, the point is that they'd have to buy two so they'd have to consider just how much soda they're planning to consume. I think this is stupid but people keep pointing out that people can just buy two when that is exactly the point of the law.

i<3franciscans
Yeah, I heard him say that. The Poles are rather rightly offended that he made that mistake when literally millions of their people died in them... Liking the 2 liter idea LOL. Or the warning label.
The Poles asked for a formal apology and he said that it was not necessary since it was just a “mistakeâ€. He should apologize, even if it is just a mistake. I wouldn't even mind a "I'm sorry for the mistake. Please know it was unintentional.", but it looks like getting this guy to recognize he's capable of fault is like pulling teeth. Precisely. There are worse things out there. I myself drink a little too much pop (Though I've thankfully cut back due to singing), but I'm pretty sure that bacon sandwich I ate this morning was worse for me. PhuturePriest
I also would be willing to bet if George Bush had said this the entire country would be in an uproar if he had not apologized and still would be even if he made the prettiest apology the world had ever seen...
