1) There's nothing sinful about occasionally imbibing large quantities of one beverage or another.
2) Every male ought to experience the sweet chaos that is a red-headed woman.
3) The young saints you speak of grew up in a different time. No need to walk in other people's footprints.

1) I'm pretty sure getting hammered is since it disables your ability to make good decisions and you sometimes wake up beside a bartender named Barbara.
2) I'll take your word for it. I'll simply have to visit Ireland for a while going to U2 concerts, drinking at pubs and then meeting red-headed girls there.
3) I don't think it's a cultural thing, but a vocational thing. Indeed, there are some that enter when they are young and are supposed to, just as there are most that shouldn't.

1) I've never woken up next to anybody that I didn't make the conscious decision to go to bed with as a result of alcohol consumption.
2) Eff U2. Flogging molly FTW!
3) I am part of the Louis C.K. school of thought, where we believe that 18 year olds don't know anything, and aren't really worth a whole lot. You've mathematically had ZERO real life experience, in terms of supporting yourself and existing in an ecosystem that wasn't created, fostered and nurtured by your parents or guardians. You've been cloistered, in essence. Thus, your range of experience limits the options you have to choose from, especially since you're one of those homeschool kids who doesn't even benefit from the experience of being surrounded by whackjobs in public schools. The point is that you don't know who you are yet, and you can't make a lifelong commitment until you do. That's why I think teenagers that get pregnant, get married and, yes, sign up for the priesthood, are idiots. But that's just me.

Some redheads are average, but there is an ultra-rare breed of redhead that would
CLEAN
YOUR
FREAKING
CLOCK.

I didn't believe it until I saw one of these super-women myself. Don't put the collar on until you've seen one.

1) Absurd exaggeration. But it does lessen your thinking capacity and people have been known to make regrettable decisions.
2) Watch what you say about U2. It's the greatest band of all time, save for possibly Iron Maiden.
3) I don't have much worldly experience, but I do have to deal with wackos. I work as a cashier, remember? I've dealt with mean drunk people, mean sober people, and annoying people. But I do agree I am pretty cloistered. I don't go out much. Recently I've started talking to an old friend, though.
4) Once again we agree. Getting married at a young age is a very, very bad idea. However, I wouldn't say entering Seminary or a Religious order is as bad an idea because it's not a permanent promise. You get years before you're even allowed to be ordained or say final vows.
Other than hating on U2 (but that may be 'cause you're still so young) and you can't be a brother from another mother, you may be my child from when I was wild.

I wonder if there is anybody here who didn't want to be a priest at 15. I did.
Nope. I'll head over to the Bad Catholic thread now...
