Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers

Do parishes need to cut down on Eucharistic ministers?

Even one is too many. The Mass I attend is packed full with several hundred people. We have one priest, and occassionally a deacon. No EMs. We use the altar rail and it proceeds quite smoothly.

we only use them because we have a cross shaped Church and one priest cannot go around the whole Church and the choir loft to distribute Communion
