I just realized that an artist took the very words out of my mouth in a post back on August 15h of last year. I want to properly introduce myself.

My name is John Levi and I am a product of Catholocism. It was my mothers faith and her mothers faith.. and whomever owned us as slaves. I happen to be African American but Catholic before anything else that can describe me

I was born and raised in Tampa FLorida and spent grade school under the Salesian Sisters. Tampa Catholic High School and then Benedictine college for a year in Atchison Kansas. After working as a bouncer in nightclubs back home I discerned for a while about a vocation but after many retreats I found a calling to the married life. I now am an insurance professional by day and it has allowed me to develop my hobby into what I feel will join the Catholic hip hop movement. I attend mass every week with my wife and children. Im a K.O.C. (tell me your degree and Ill tell you mine lol ) and ive been a lector in my home parish. My mom is a Eucharistic Min.

I want to give this ALL THAT IVE GOT. Ive been looking at this forum for the past year or two or three but was reluctant at first to join. (To anyone who is browsing but hasn't made the decision to step up and grab a weapon in this war. Please stop delaying.)

What you guys are doing here is big.. it has been big and we need to write a new chapter in the story of salvation reaching to the places we haven't before and doesnt matter if the world is ready for it or not.. Our Savior is. Everyone else reaches out to get petty messages to our youth.. there is even Christian rap that glorifies the grim.. Its time we give them the Truth.. the Sacraments.. The Real Presence.. We have it.. and we all know how willing we are to share.. but it has to be done gingerly and delicately. I charge everyone who has an interest in hip hop to do everything they can to revive this movement ..
Im earnestly ask for acceptance into this phatmass family.. I will get the t-shirts and everythign else I need to let people know that this special operations unit of the church militant is alive and kicking butt. I will rep P.M. everytime I grab a mic if this is ok. Ive been making connections with my Diocese youth director and others to get ready for the stage here this summer/ fall. Ive never done this before but I know that Ill feel way worse if I see Our Lord at judgement and try to explain to Him why I didnt use the second of the 3 T's ( Talent ). Im in the process of transcribing lyrics. I make every effort to include Tradition, Dogma, & Doctrine everywhere I can while dropping my verses.


Please listen to the three songs Ive posted out there so far and let me know what you think even if it is with a simple like at the least.


If anyone knows of anything I should do or of ways to help me get rolling here please let me know ASAP. Im in dire need of song mastering just for 5 songs at this point. If theres any questions please let me know as soon possible. .. Ill be on here at least weekly.

My sister just graduated from Benedictine. It's weird to see someone online that went there, honestly. It's a really great college, though. Very traditional.
