Senior Seminar Approval

I changed the topic of my senior seminar, but I need approval from a professor at my university. I'm working on it from home over the summer and doing my presentation in late August. I've tried to contact the professor who is supposed to be helping me, but he hasn't responded. I came to find out that he had surgery last week, but is back at the abbey which is located on my Catholic campus (since he is both a priest and monk,) but still hasn't responded.

I asked one of the others in the community if he knew more about the situation. He said that he would talk to him yesterday, but I haven't gotten an update from him. I'm in another state over ten hours away, so I can't get there in person. The only other professor in my field at the school is possibly starting her sabbatical already.

The school appears to still be working on who to replace her with. The professor running the senior seminar class can only help me so far with my paper since he is an English professor. He likes my topic, but says that I need the ok on the topic change and to give me feedback on my work.
