When you have a wife from Texas mixed with a husband from Peru, it just don't fly to buy something like that! One thing my husband has introduced me to, which isn't as popular in Mexican cooking, is to put lime and cilantro on everything. I agree about sour cream being a necessity but that horrifies my husband so our borders are a little divided on that point.
