OnlySunshine
Please pray for me. I just got the results back of the lab tests I had done last week. Given that I have a family history of hypothyroidism, I wanted my ARNP to check my TSH levels before I increased the dosage of my medication. The medication can cause thyroid problems -- hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. I've been feeling tired, run down, depressed (even on my antidepressant), and just experiencing general fatigue. The tests showed elevated TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) which means that my T3 or T4 is lower than normal. I am having them fax me the information so I can show it to my PCP and see what she thinks since she knows my family history. Needless to say, I am glad that I did not increase the dosage. If my PCP thinks it's advisable, I'm going to discontinue the medication and ask my ARNP to start me on another one that doesn't interfere with normal thyroid function.
