Archaeology cat
Day 5 Oh Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke your powerful name, the protection of the living and the salvation of the dying. Purest Mary, let your name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, Blessed Lady, to rescue me whenever I call on you. In my temptations, in my needs, I will never cease to call on you, ever repeating your sacred name, Mary, Mary. What a consolation, what sweetness, what confidence fills my soul when I utter your sacred name or even only think of you! I thank the Lord for having given you so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering your name. Let my love for you prompt me ever to hail you Mother of Perpetual Help. Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for me and grant me the favor I confidently ask of you. (Then say three Hail Marys). OnlySunshine
Thanks again, A.C., for your prayers! I have actually started my own novena to the Blessed Virgin Mary in honor of her Visitation to Elizabeth, her cousin. It was funny how it started. I asked to lead the Bible Study this past Tuesday in prayer (I ended up leading it all) because we were studying the Visitation. Well, what better prayer to start with than the Magnificat? So we said the full prayer, a Hail Mary, and a Glory Be. Then, it occurred to me when I got home that it was exactly nine days before the Feast of the Visitation. So, I have been continually praying it each of the 9 days. I decided that this feast day means more to me than the Feast of the Immaculate Conception -- even though they are both beautiful. I have a ring that my friend gave me that was sized recently and it has an "M" with the cross through it. I'm going to have it blessed and then I will renew my Consecration to the Blessed Virgin next Thursday. The first time I consecrated my self was on December 8th, 2009. Archaeology cat
That sounds wonderful, MM. I still don't know the results of my husband's interview, but I realised that his interview was on the feast of Our Lady, Help of Christians, and today is the feast of St Bede (I figure since he translated some of the Bible into English, he's a good intercessor for those in language studies, as my husband is).
