The really traditional Wichita diocese right next to me has fifty seminarians. The first seminary they send you to costs thirty thousand a year per student. I'm no mathematician, but fifty times thirty thousand = 1500000, and that's just one out of eight years!

The Three Days of Darkness are completely theoretical and are up to Catholics to decide if they believe this will occur or not, but basically the Three Days of Darkness are three days where the Devil and his Demons have been permitted by God to leave Hell and, in a sense, invade Earth. In the theory there will be a sign a week or more before this happens and you will have to get Holy items, including blessed candles, and you will have to lock yourself and others in a place with no windows or anything. During the Three Days a darkness will overcome the earth and Demons will go around killing people. If you are praying and are in a safe place, however, you will be fine, though I have heard Demons will try to tempt you to go out, using voices of loved ones and what-not. I can't remember much else since it has been a long time from when I studied such things. A handful of Saints believed the Three Days of Darkness will happen, including Saint Padre Pio, and it is permitted to believe or not believe in the theory, but that's all it is: a theory. You can look into it, but beware of online sources as some are from Catholics who have split from the Church. It would be better to get approved books on it.
