CatherineM
He got a call this morning from the French air force academy. The wanted his input about using lunar lava tubes as habitation on a future moon mission. They are testing his idea out in a lava tube on an island in the Indian Ocean. I don't know why Austin bothered getting Schizophrenia. His real life is weirder than any delusion or hallucination ever could be. I just hope they try out my idea of a rappelling harness that can work with a space suit.
Innocent
You mean they're presently setting up a mock space colony within a lava tube in the Indian Ocean?
CatherineM
They are testing out the feasibility of using extinct lava tubes as habitat. They are going to test ideas out on a volcanic island that is located in the Indian Ocean. I believe they are above water although subsurface tubes would be a better test. I remember when Buzz Aldrin single-handedly invented safe space walking by throwing a capsule in a pool at NASA. Austin had the lava tube idea 20+ years ago, so even though he's quite crazy, in science when you have an idea first, it's like having a patent. Everyone has to ask you first. ContemporaryCaflicCrusader
Does he own 20 sided dice? Or a collection of tabletop miniatures? That is what truly makes one geeky, and no I do not play D&D I heard It's satanic... Somehow.

It's the forerunner of pretty much every single RPG or computer game we have today.

He has just about every axis and allies game. I think he played D&D in college, but we all did stuff in college we cringe about.

[/quote] My bro plays axis and allies, He loves it and he's always trying to convince me to play but my nerdness points me in a different direction with games. I haven't yet, but I'm interested in trying out D&D. From what I've heard, it's less about the game itself and more about the people you choose to play with. Still working on finding a good group to play with. Mainly up to this point my nerdness has come out through comic books and video games, and yes, even a year and a half stint playing WoW. ContemporaryCaflicCrusader
Heroclix all the way... and Mario Kart Wii and Smash Bros. Brawl too. Heroclix is a collectable tabletop minitares game the other two are for wii. Heroclix can only really be enjoyed with other people who enjoy heroclix and the rules are pretty complicated: ages 14 and up. Sooooooooooooooooo much fun though. My friends played axis and allies once, I was invited but came down with the flu, so I didn't go. They said they couldn't play on a board that small. Europe was literally a heaping pile of battalions and what not of every color so that the game couldn't really even be played.
