havok579257
I was on CAF earlier a saw a priest post thatthe blessed sacrement should never beunattended. He said simply putting a cover on the monstrance(sp?) is not enough. So my question is what should I do when I just pop in for some adoration time and when i am ready to leave no onis there and no one is in the church because its late at night? Should I phone the priest even ifs its late? Should I just stay until someone eventually shows up? What if its before I go to work? His post makes me worry about even going now if there is somewhere i need to be anytime after adoration.
cappie
The 2004 Instruction Redemptionis Sacramentum, numbers 129-141. cover the norms for exposition, to your question number138 says "Still, the Most Holy Sacrament, when exposed, must never be left unattended even for the briefest space of time. It should therefore be arranged that at least some of the faithful always be present at fixed times, even if they take alternating turns." If there is no one and you have to leave for an appointment, for work or some emergency then you would have to inform the Pastor and it is his responsibility to either attend until someone else comes or to conclude the period of exposition and then do something about the roster
