Pax domini bretheren...
Does anyone else ever feel like there trapped in hell to varying degrees at various times but consistantly and can't get out ? I fear i seek peace and love to much from others instead of asking Jesus and than sharing these gifts with others, i do try but i feel so fake and useless with my seemingly vain attempts to love others as christ would have me love. This isn't religious guilt, there is a fire blazing inside me to be jesus hands on earth and it is constantly there and there seems to be a constant battle between me and a demon, me to stay close to that flame and the demon to turn my eyes from this flame, and to often even in simple thought i entertain the suggestions of this demon.

Jesus is LORD
God is Good,God is Love,God Saves.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm in hell, but I frequently attribute the sufferings I endure here to an earthly foretaste of what I will experience in purgatory. It helps to cleanse me before I die, so that the rest of my life might be lived closer in union with Christ.

I too fail so often in loving others the way He loves. It is a constant struggle, but it's comforting to know that we are not alone in these struggles. 1st, we have Him to help us. It doesn't mean He goes *bamph* and makes all our worries go away, but that He is walking by our side, giving us the grace to continue when we feel that we have no more strength. 2nd, we have each other. Each of us is sinners trying to rise up out of this mess. We are called to be a community of strength and support for each other. Through uniting as the Body of Christ, we can help to lift each other out of sin and closer to Him.

So to answer your question, no. I know for a fact I'm not in heaven yet, but I don't feel like I'm in Hell.

We all fail to Love as Jesus Loves. Our human nature is that of a sinner ("sin" means "to miss the mark" - and our mark is to Love as Jesus Loves - to unite ourselves to His Love).
In our journey through life there will be many trials and difficulties of one kind or another, our Peace of Soul comes from knowing and embracing that greater than all of these is our Loving Merciful Lord who never allows more than we can endure and who'se purpose in allowing these trials and difficulties is to further our own perfection - and mysteriously to our finite and rational nature, in acting in the interest of one person's good/ journey of perfection, He is acting in the interests of the good of all.
We can neverbe sure on this earth the reason for our trials and difficulties with complete accurancy - other than in general terms that they are for our own good and the good of all. Our journey is one of trust in Him.
To take one's spiritual eyes off self and to gaze rather at our Loving and Merciful Lord in whose Tender Embrace all in Grace can find complete rest and a sweet and light yoke.
I really liked your comment about us all needing each other. We are created social beings (a very pale reflection of the Life of The Blessed Trinity)called into "a community of strength and support for each other". I really liked that!

To me it sound like you have a vocation to something bigger than marriage or single life. ( what are you now?) And on one hand you are striving to please Christ while on the other hand you are trying not to fall into the traps of the devil. Okay! my advice would be (if your not possessed or anything like you made it sound in you post) Pray all that you can and pay less attention to the devil. there is this great line in a book that I am reading which goes something like this: "those that may too much attention to hell and Satan, will heighten their changes of falling into sin." I would say practice your focusing skills. When I feel like I may be falling into a trap I have realized the best thing to do is consciously focus on Jesus's passion or his mercy or something like that to get my mind of of the other thing. And prayer is one of the best swords against anything as well as the rosary. Jesus listens to his mother so if you go through her miracles can happen! Never overcome to pessimism. I struggle with it but we have so much to be grateful for, starting with our existence. Do you realize that God loved you into existence? He chose you! He loves you more than you could ever imagine! If you are feeling lost still, run to the sacraments! they are there for a reason! I hope this helps and may God bless you always!

Wow Annie that's beautiful. I especially love the line "Do you realize that God loved you into existence?" That's powerful stuff right there.

I agree with your sentiment of focus on Jesus instead of on sin. When I'm focused on the great joy that I can bring to others by following Jesus' will in my life, I can more readily do something good rather than sitting around trying to avoid sin.

:) possibly just waddya call that thing when God iz seemingly not present and he is still present but doin some trimming up of tha vine, whats that called again...hold up it's on my tounge...thaz it tha desolation. I was watching ewtn today and it was tellin me bout the rules of saint (ughh) saint, dang, i know it wasn't saint benedict woz saint alphonsus liguori possibly but that don't serve my memory correctly and the priest woz talkin bout spiritual desolation and the fruits of it. And also about spiritual consolation and the fruits of that too and how we all go through bric and brac of that to some degree and everything in-between too i assume.

Increase devotion to the Blessed Virgin...satan hates her more than he hates God. Give yourself over to her and you'll never be same. Pray the rosary. Don't be idle.

Only time I've ever been in hell in a cell was when Shawn Michaels beat me for the championship belt. I think he hit me with a ladder too.

alleluia, thanks brothers and sisters in christ, one does not have to be in the transmundane lane to have a spiritual boquet. :) oh and if it seems like i baited you all, blame jesus' lol coz he iz tha fisherman and me only the bait haha. But aye it is true everything i said about where i'm at so often for about 3 years now and no calling to a vocation/clergy as far as i can tell so far, though some people i know would tell you otherwise possibly, well they surely have hinted it to me. It is funny how we are to fish each other in the sense of the other boats coming in to help bring in the catch to avoid sinkage :)
