You can't think of any way that they could be imperfectly contrite and not go to confession, and not be rejecting God's mercy? Just use a little imagination.
Not particularly...could you give an example?
Norseman82
The same kid should also be learning about the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the hope in God's mercy, preferably at the same time.
Where they will also learn about such things like firm purpose of amendment to avoid futute sin, etc., which means no more shacking up, leaving the invalid marriage or one parent sleeping in another room, etc.
dominicansoul
i have something floating around in my head that i'm going to post later in transmundane lane.....when does Divine Mercy "stop" and Divine Justice begin??? my thoughts are that only those of us living on earth have the chance to beg God for mercy, but won't have that chance when we are standing before Him for our Final Judgment... iono, i just have been thinking about this today, after reading this thread... arfink
I once had it put to me this way: "Good people? Oh, they can go to hell. No, holy people go to heaven. Don't just be good, that's what everyone does. Be holy."

I know more genuinely good people who aren't religious than I know holy people who are genuinely good persons. Weird. I'd rather try to be a good person first.
