Yes, but disabling the search function disables the "View New Content" button as well.

I tried to make a thread last night about Barbie dolls and my three year old sister, and supposedly it was posted successfully, but it's not there..... I think the serve is biased against Barbies.

No. Believe it or not, there are some things that are just too lame. There's a 7 second delay when starting a thread. It gets reviewed before posting.
