The Bus Station
I don't mean literally in a recycling bin! Haha! I have to submit a literary essay on a topic which I already wrote an essay on a couple of years ago at a different school. Is it sinful to revise this essay and turn in the revision to my professor? I am really torn about this. Thanks!
cappie
No it's your work, you will revise it I imaging bringing it up to date etc, as the saying goes "there's no point reinventing the wheel"
cappie
Someone has pointed out to me that some Universities or Colleges in the United States would consider the use of an old essay as Plagiarism. I would not as I think it is the "wrongful appropriation," "close imitation," or "purloining and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions," and the representation of them as one's own original work. I was addressing the "sinfulness" of the action but given what I have been told then you should check out the policy of the institution before submitting the work.
