Thank you for all the prayers.
He is alive, skinless in many large places, stitched together in parts, but he is alive. The last part I consider a miracle because he was hit from behind on a 4 lane bridge by someone doing at least fifty MPH. Said person hit him with dead center of the car, he hit the windshield, over the car, and landed in front of a city bus. His raciing bike was throw 50 yards away, and could now fit in a shopping bag.
Said person kept on going and left him lying on the road. Thank God the bus driver managed to stop the bus before running him over.
However everyone else on the bridge immediately stopped and ran to help him, covered him with blankets, tried to stop the bleeding,, kept him relatively calm, called for help, and called us. 911 got dozens and dozens of calls.

When all the swelling goes down we are hoping for an MRI to assess the damages to his knees . In Pa you HAVE to give bikers 4 feet clearance to pass them, and this was not an attempt to pass. John's bike is covered with lights, and reflectors and he was wearing an orange/white kit so it would be kind of hard to miss him. We are hoping they catch whoever did it, and they need prayers so they turn themselves in.
[/quote]I'm so sorry this happened to him and your family. It's amazing to hear he's still alive! How wonderful! I hope he makes it through this without much more suffering for any of you and that the other driver is caught.

Brother Adam

Prayers that his sufferings are united with our Lords, that he heals quickly, and that there are no complications or long term effects.

God bless you and your family.

Today he was seen by the sports medicine specialists who did an MRI. His knee bones are so bruised they might as well be broken, so he will be on crutches for awhile. His opposite hip is bone bruised as well so he has trouble moving. Insurance won't cover it because they haven't found the driver of the car yet. His bike is destroyed. He is alive :)

Everybody asked me yesterday why I was so calm. That part was simple (but not easy). Before I went to the hospital or anything I posted here and facebook for prayers, so my back was covered. I didn't have to panic because I KNEW John was being prayed for , so I could concentrate on being there.

Thanks
