She said if I tell her one more time that I'm nervous she is going to beat me up. LOL
And in all honesty - I'm really not trying to be harsh or judgmental here - are you nervous because of the "performance" aspects of confirmation? TV, movies, celebrity magazines - the whole media machine tries to convince us that everything is a performance.
No, not really. Basically worried because of the holy aspect of it. I don't know, I'm a girl and I worry a lot. Lol. Thanks for the advice, though.
NAMallard, We can send you a veil if you are feeling really deprived.... Claire, just breathe when you start to feel like this. Focus on how happy you are to welcome the Holy Spirit... and let God do the rest. Holding you in prayer -- your confirmation is next Sunday? We'll all remember you at Mass. Remember, I used up ALL the falling and banging into things at confirmation ... so you can't fall, and you can't knock over the kneeler. I've used that all up. After dealing with the complete klutz that I am, the angels had a meeting... and now they hold the kneelers and escort every confirmandi up the aisle so that nothing can happen. So you walk right up that aisle, and you'll be beautiful; I only wish we had a mantilla emo.
Haha, I am going to remember this! Yes, it is on Sunday! I can't wait! AnneLine
You know... there are actually two kinds of stress -- good stress and bad stress. The bad stress is the kind that makes you want to rip your hair out. The good kind is the kind that helps you get really focused and read to go. Sounds like you have some of both -- concentrate on the ind that helps you to remember the value of the sacrament and being present 'in the moment' -- too many people don't remember much of their confirmation, so just focus on being really present. You might also want to put in a prayer to St. Martha -- who is undoubtedly the patron saint of worriers. Remember what Jesus told her? "Martha, Martha, you are worried about many thngs.. only one is necessary." Exactly. Take Jesus' advice!!!!
