For Great Opportunity

First of all, thank you to all who prayed for my previous intentions. I am still searching for jobs. I have been considering doing a year in AmeriCorps so I can earn some valuable experience but they usually only have teaching and house-building. I wanted to be able to stay around my hometown so I could continue attending my Church -- which I believe God is calling me to do. I was looking online today and found that there is an upcoming opportunity starting in the fall which will be for volunteers in health care. They prefer that you have some healthcare knowledge, including medical terminology, which I do! It lasts 10.5 months and pays a modest living allowance every 2 weeks. Plus, volunteers that complete their service are eligible for a $5,500 education grant, which I really need.

Please pray that I can get a reference from my current pastor. It is required that you have 2 references before you are able to submit an application to AmeriCorps. I still have one on file from my former pastor in 2009 that is active. I'm going to see my pastor tonight and Sunday afternoon so I am planning to ask him when I can get a few minutes. I need to make an appointment anyway to talk to him about my discernment.

Unfortunately, since this volunteer position isn't starting until the fall, I need to find a job until then. I got an email from a friend today about a position working with a Catholic media organization, so I'm looking into it. I've also applied to several office jobs. Please keep praying!
