What are some of the major contributions the church has made to the world? I am talking about chartiable donation, funding, schooling etc, in comparison to other churches and forms of government.

Just to name a few things. Also it should be mentioned that the Catholic Church is the largest and most active non profit in the world with regard to helping with the poor and impoverished.
