AnneLine
The Mod Squad..... "The series featured three young, hip undercover cops in southern California with plenty of attitude. Michael Cole played Pete Cochran, a weathly white guy with a record, Clarence Williams III... played Linc Hayes, a black man from Watts, and Peggy Lipton played Julie Barnes, a runaway living on the streets." synopsis from http://tvmysteries.omnimystery.com/mod-squad.html And of course... Cressexpress
Ugh, now I know just how really old I am-my first two cars had no seat belts, never mind air conditioning or tape players.Oh, and to turn on the high beams you clicked a button on the floor with your left foot. Finally got a car with an 8 track. Livin large. My first computer experience was at my job and it had it's own room as it was huge!

Welcome, Cressexpress! You have found your people!!!! Papist, you ever come visit me, I threaten to FEED you some of that... STUFF. Rice-a-Roni is revolting! But is it the San Francisco treat. When I had to travel to Santa Rosa (LOVED IT!) no place served the San Francisco treat. It was like not getting to eat French toast in France. AnneLine
I think that the LOS ANGELES people are trying to tell you that Rice-a-Roni is the 'san francisco treat' It's not from SF, and it is DEFINITELY not a treat. It is a combo of rice, vermicelli and SALT with a little flavoring tossed in. :shudder: I think it WANTS to be risotto, but it is just not the same thing, Papist. We don't want you to associate that stuff with our fair city. Try these instead... (and they've been around since long before 1976 (some from before 1876!) so are fair game for this thread....) http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/nativeson/article/These-3-classic-S-F-delis-still-going-strong-3199672.php http://www.mitchellsicecream.com/ http://www.boudinbakery.com/ And if you will go a little further south of San Francisco... and like Garlic... try the Gilroy Garlic Festival! Check out the video on the link below -- WOW, just WOW.... http://gilroygarlicfestival.com/festival/history/ Rice-a-roni... I don't THINK so....
