yeah, mine is university owned housing, so I can't bash it, though I think I would be totally justified if I did. lol.

you know... it can fall off the wall and you can attempt to catch it with your bat.

Groo the Wanderer

Take it next door. Knock. When your neighbor answers, toss it into their place then run!

How is little beep beep feeling this morning? And are your ears still working? Are you doing OK?

Autumn Dusk

Actually I'd call the emergency maitinence number...they usually have someone on call. Down in new jersy (seton hall i think) they had a fire about 10 years ago....and others more recently where defective fire alarms caused injury or death. Most colleges would take this seriously due to liability.

I had this happen in my dorm a few years ago. I called the emergency number because I couldn't reach it to change the battery (nor did I have access to a battery at midnight). They never came. The next day (after not sleeping all night) I thought they had come by since the beeping stopped. Right at midnight the beeping came back. I had to wait until 5am to get the stupid battery changed, and it was beeping every thirty seconds the whole night through. I had nowhere to go.

Moral of the story? Change the batteries, sure. But that reminder is kinda dumb.
