AnneLine
I was actually smiling and trying to be nice to him, but the fact that he asked me what street I lived on was kida...weird. And then he asked me if I wanted to stay in his car until it stopped raining, and, well, yeah. That kinda creeped me out...so just to be safe, I walked to the library.
Good for you! That was a good plan... library, store, anywhere with people. It IS creepy when you have an experience like that. I had an older guy try to feel my leg on a bus one day when I was in high school. I thought it was my imagination... it wasn't. Euck! Got off the bus & went into our neighborhood store and told the storekeeper, who let me stay there a long time till we were sure he wasn't around. You just can't be too careful. Now I might be tempted to just say really loudly, 'Get your hand off my leg or I will call the Police.' Whatever works.... Jesus_lol
remember people, every adult male is a pedophile. if you spot one talking to or being near a child, call the police and then tackle him. think of the children.
AnneLine
that might be a LITTLE too strong, Jesus_LOL... potentially everyone could be a problem, but I'd hate to think EVERYONE is a potential pedophile!
I knew that you weren't being totally serious... hope no offense was taken! It truly stinks that nice guys have to hesitate before approaching a kid... or a woman. And even women have to be cautious approaching kids.... who would have ever dreamed we would get to the point where every school volunteer, every CCD teacher, every person helping at a camp would have to be live scanned.... There are days I think my fingerprints will wear out.... On the other hand... it also stinks that kids (and employers, and volunteer agencies, and adults) do need to be cautious and overly aware of strangers these days. Heck, I even hesitate to email the young ones on this board lest anyone think I am planning something nefarious! How sad! It isn't fair to anybody..... Things were different even a generation or so ago.... it's just sad. Agreed, Jesus_LOL... (now somebody gonna report me....)
