she_who_is_not
I was in an EF5 tornado five years ago. Look up the Greensburg, Kansas Tornado. But thanks for the advice. I've been getting ready throughout the day, getting all of the things and expecting the worst. I'm pretty much ready to last three days trapped in my storm shelter. Though I would really like it if we avoided being trapped for three days...
You will be ok. God is with you. And I didn't mean to make light of your tornado fears. They are scary and I'm the kind of person who deals with it by acting tough and being stupid. I watched a PBS doc on deadly tornados last night and all the experts were commenting on the importance of preparedness and vigilance for survival. My roomie gave me an "I told you so" look. She has ptsd from being on a highway during a tornado. Sorry if I sounded like an arse hole. Sometimes I have trouble taking you seriously. That's my problem, not yours. sidemunch88
There have been things I have never told people out of fear, but I figured "Since I may die by a tornado today, what the heck? They can't yell at a dead guy!" Thus, here is my list of politically incorrect things according to Phatmass standards that I love: I love Michael Voris and the Vortex, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity. I think female altar servers are a huge mistake. I love Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, but I never liked Ron Paul. I don't think there should ever be a mosque near Ground Zero, and I think the Muslim faith is violent and has violent teachings, and is in no way a peaceful Religion. I think U2 is the greatest band ever, and I don't really like modern music. Now I'm really counting on that tornado, because otherwise I'm in a lot of trouble... But really, I just wanted to state what I like without fear for once. If people don't agree, I don't care. These are my beliefs and I'm entitled to them. They aren't out of line with Church teaching or anything, so it's not really that big of a deal. But to be clear: I do think Michael Voris should obey his Bishop. fides' Jack
I also think that females alters servers are a mistake. We did not need them until VII happen.
We still don't need them. Mass would go on without servers. Mass would also go on without EMHCs, but don't get me started on that...I don't think U2 is the greatest band ever, but I don't think they're too far from that mark... You didn't sound like a jerk at all, and it was good advice. As for having trouble not taking me seriously, the key thing for everyone that meets me to know is this: I will crack jokes, so do not take what I say seriously. I can be very serious at times, you can ask anybody here. In fact, sometimes I am too serious, so I try to balance it out with making jokes. If you do not appreciate my humor I will be sure to treat you how you would like to be treated. I am sorry if I offended you in any way.
You're welcome to PM me, but it's possible all of us would value a thoughtful post from someone who had been through that.... Us future clergy are going to have a hard time because, from what I can tell, the laity don't like Voris. Hopefully we can indoctrinate them over time with our homilies. We can say things like "The Lord died for our sins because he loves us so much. But he particularly died for Michael Voris, whom he loves more than the average person and thus wanted him especially to be saved."
