This thread is amesome.

How does that one joke go? Oh yeah:
Two men considering a religious vocation were having a conversation. "What is similar about the Jesuit and Dominican Orders? " the one asked.

The second replied, "Well, they were both founded by Spaniards -- St. Dominic for the Dominicans, and St. Ignatius of Loyola for the Jesuits. They were also both founded to combat heresy -- the Dominicans to fight the Albigensians, and the Jesuits to fight the Protestants."

"What is different about the Jesuit and Dominican Orders?"

"Met any Albigensians lately?"

Actually the Carmelites DO have a famous artist... he just isn't in line for beatification any time soon....

Great article... he's often one of the reasons the Carmelites give for why the O.Carms. needed reforming....

But he did some BEAUTIFUL madonnas....

edit... ok, now who stole Fra Filippo's beautiful Madonna? Let's try again....

There we go!

I gave that book to my dad. I need to borrow it and actually read it. But I guess he got quite a bit of interest from his 10th grade confirmation class when he brought it in. :hehe:
