Democracy has not be tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried. I want real democracy.

Wait what? Someone found democracy? NO WAY!

Where'd they find it? My country don't got a smidgeon of it.

I think technically that Alaska is an unincorporated territory and not its own country.

If everyone who complained voted we wouldn't be in the mess we are now. It's a privlage to vote but most people treat it as a right. You really don't have the right to not vote. It's a disservse to your fellow man. Make an informed opionon even if I don't like it.

In my immaginary country a vote would be considered nonbinding unless there was a 95% turnout rate.

Ask not if my posts are intended to be serious and make sense. I vote because I'm free. I vote because I stand for something. I vote because my voice matters (YES IT DOES!!!). I vote to honor those who gave their lives so that we might have the right to vote. I vote because MTV said so. I vote as not to pissoff Harrison Ford. I vote because I resent a candidate and it is a way to lash out in protest. I vote because I like stickers. I vote for teh lulz. I vote as an excuse to get out of work for a little while. I vote because this is America and that's what we do, doggone-it!

And there is one greater than Chuck Norris.

I vote for all of the women who fought hard to give me that right, and for all of the women who are persecuted or denied that right elsewhere.

*sigh* if only all American women felt this way. Again, even if they voted "against" me, I'd still be proud of my country.

I want the old republic back.

I guess I'll vote for one of the puppets in the upcoming election, but ultimately I feel the whole thing will need to be scrapped before anything more can be done.

My hope is that everyone who disagrees with me will realize how pointless voting is and stay home in November. That'll show Obama.

I am a pro life democrate or a union republican so I can't win either way I vote but I feel I have to vote anyways. you just have to pick the best of the undisirable canidates. IF YOU DON'T VOTE the canidates don't even have to pretend to try to keep you happy. The only thing the politicians listen to is the people who give them money and the people they think can vote them out of office. If the polls show that only 25% of christians voted in the election why would the politicians work to help them. MY only suggestion is find the phone # for your local politicians and call them. I have found that even if they decide not to agree with you that at least your voice was heard.

If they decided not to agree with you then that means your voice wasn't heard.

Screaming into the void accomplishes nothing.
