eagle_eye222001
So, what are positive reasons to vote for Romney? Basically, on what issues is Romney clearly, and consistently different from Obama? Please cite evidence to back your claim. I am trying to figure out the positive case to vote for Romney as opposed to voting for Romney just because he's not Obama. This thread is NOT about voting for third-party candidates, or whether it's moral to vote third party and why, or why a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama........these are separate issues from what I want discussed here. The purpose of this thread is to make clear Romney's positive position, and sort through all the muddle of the speeches and talking points. This thread is NOT about hate speech on Romney or why one should vote for someone else than Romney. I want facts discussed on the positive consistent positions of Romney. Thank you. Winchester
If you make weapons for the government, or work for a company that makes weapons for the government, that's a good reason to vote for Romney.
Winchester
If you work for a large bank, that would be a good reason to vote for Romney.
Winchester
Or if you want the United States to collapse under crushing debt, so you can finally use your MREs.If you really hate making personal decisions about your money and other property, Romney is a great choice. 4588686
If you think that politicians having any earnestly held beliefs beyond the belief that they should be President is totally overrated then Romney may be your man.
arfink
-If you just want to see a man with white skin in the White House then I guess you'd like Romney. I kid you not, I know people who look at it that way. They are crazy, BTW. -Mercs would have it good under Romney, though that's not saying much since they have it just fine with Obama. -Big corporations would probably get some more tax breaks, while the poor and the middle class will continue to be squeezed for everything they have. -The "War on Drugs" will definitely continue if Romney is elected. Then again, it's unknown if Obama's recent actions are merely for show, or if he'll be of the same mind. (ie, to continue with the status quo)

arfink
Oh, and I read somewhere that Romney has promised to increase funding to places like DARPA and possibly even NASA. Go figure.
Awww, you think there's a possibility that Republicans are radically different from Democrats. Cute. But in all seriousness, I don't think there's ANY concrete, unshakable evidence that Romney is any different than Obama. He's completely reinvented himself, taken opposite positions on various issues...the only thing that is clear about him is that he and his group will say whatever it takes to get elected.
