I have never heard idolatry used in quite that sense. It's an interesting argument to say that we need to be reminded of the Incarnation in images.

I'll go back to read the article in debt later and give some more thoughts.

It's kinda backwards wierd logic.

We do have to be careful of both sides. God is FAR, more than an image. Infact, if you need anything to remind you of God, it should be a Bible.

Jesus=word of God made flesh

Word of God=Bible
